Studies
My undergraduate studies were done at Saint Louis University (Madrid Campus) and Loyola University Chicago. I received a B.A. Classics from LUC in 2006. My focus was on the genetic relationship of Classical Greek and Latin through Proto-Indo-European, I have little interest in ancient history or literature.
In mid-2006 I began studies towards an M.A. in Finno-Ugrian linguistics at the University of Helsinki. My master’s thesis will compare verbs of motion in Mari and Chuvash.
My extra-curricular obsession is Old Church Slavonic and the diachrony of the modern Slavonic languages.
Faith
I believe in Christianity (as set forth in the Nicene Creed). In March of 2005 I entered the catechumenate of the Orthodox Church. In Helsinki I am a member of the parish of Uspensky Cathedral (Finnish Orthodox Church), while in Cluj I attend services at Ss. Constantine and Helena (Romanian Orthodox Church).
I am a great admirer of the work of the philosopher of religion Richard Swinburne.
